A question about Old Ascalon - Guild Wars Forums

I liked that you posted the thread on feedback about New Ascalon (before the Charr invasion). My problem was that I didn't catch myself up on all the information before the Beta started. That or I was too caught up in the fun of the game with my previous character and didn't think of starting a new character until it was too late. So I never took the time to create a new character and put myself through the Academy. With that mentioned I obviously didn't get to see the whole new dimension of Ascalon and its layout.

The question I have though is this... Do you guys know if the devs are planning on implementing this new area into the game or was it just a trial run for the February BWE? Are they planning on having this run in the March and/or April BWE as well?

I believe that they intend to keep the new area around- they put in far too much effort to put in a new area to just throw it away. It is a nice place for new characters to start and ease into the game before being thrown into the mix- and the sweet graphics there are definately a nice starting point for the game. The real clincher is that they already put in cinematics when you create a new character and also one for the Searing when the Charr invade. I can't tell you with 100% certainty, but I'm pretty sure the new area is there to stay.
